lord y did they take it away from us??
received a rude shock early this morning. went to check out my results for monday's heats. n guess wad. 1stly the pe department cancelled the 100m semi-finals which were supposed to be held today. that effectively helps me say goodbye to a possible 100m final. cos i was only the top 10th or 11th qualifier, n only the top 8 get in. alright nvm about tt.
what was to come next would screw my whole day upside down. the results for the 4x100m heats showed my class t28 having the best timing in the competition, but we were DQ cos according to the officials, runner 2 passed to runner 3 outside of the relay zone. i was like wtf. mel n des were very very sure that the exchange was before the 2nd yellow line la. and wif that, the num1 qualifying team is out of the final. we tried appealing to mr foo n mr tay but they said "no, we saw the exchange outside of the zone. yes it's a waste cos ur timing was good, but we have to do our duty as judge." oh please. stop the crap n jus give it to us la. u put the best team out jus because of this kind of reason which u arent even sure of. and anyway our timing on that day was lousy la.
mel n i were devastated. we couldnt even concentrate on anything the whole day. kept stoning n everything that happened kept coming back to our memories. every few mins, i'd think of that scene at the track when i received the baton from des n sprinted to the finish. to some ppl, this might not seem like a big deal, not making it to the final. but to mel n i, it was enough to leave us continually wondering what could have been. we were THIS close! so cruel to be so near yet so far. it's like being only millimetres away from something you so dearly desire, only to have it snatched away from you at the final moment. terribly bitter.
it's not jus that gold medal that we r so sure of getting, that is at stake. there's so much much more. it's the class bonding that we would have. it's the atmosphere n joy of seeing ur own friends n classmates cheer for u all the way to the finish. it's the exhiliration of grabbing both the guys n girls 4x100m titles for the class.
dont care. we r gonna appeal again tmr. lord please be wif us.
