two different worlds
today marks the last day of 2004, and also my aunt sovvy's wedding..
went over to my grandma's place in the morning for the formal ceremony n stuff. met up wif my mum's side cousins n relatives. i felt really sian when i turned up in the more formal clothes which were meant for tonight's dinner, while everyone seemed to be dressed casually.. ohwell. the bride n groom came later in this really cool merc, but the grandeur was kinda hampered by rain the whole morning. wild wild wet.
then there was the tea-serving ceremony n photo taking. lots of photo taking. we all did the quan jia fu also. =) yea the bride n groom also gave out angpows to my cousins a.k.a the unmarried ppl. even my bro got it. but i tink i was getting food or smth n they forgot to give me the angpow. i'm a winner la. so broke yet missed out on it. n i found out abt it only in the car.
while i was kicking myself for not being at the right place at the right time, this was happening so close to home...

it's freaking scary how this could have happened to our tiny island. it jus goes to show how unpredictable life is. really wanna thank God for his blessings n protecting us. and also pray that the families of the countless victims can recover from the disaster n get up to carry on wif life. God does make miracles happen. those that have left us WILL find peace in heaven wif God.
gotta go get some slp now. still gotta attend the wedding dinner later on. i'm feeling guilty now of all the luxuries we have, yet those victims in the region r struggling for basic survival. haix. god bless the world.
